As a photographer myself, and privileged witness to Ariane Lopez-Huici's creative work and studio-life in New York, I took this unique opportunity to record the testimony of an artist and a photographer who is fully engaged in her work and in her time.
This retrospective documentary reveals the evolution and artistic challenges of Ariane Lopez-Huici's photography as it develops from abstract to figurative art, and toward a jubilant celebration of the body, in all its excess.
A rare documentary mixing the artist's photography and verbal commentary, as well as written and musical quotes from writers, philosophers and musicians close to her work ; and showing for the first time, the live and intimate creation in studio with her models.
This transversal collaboration between different arts and generations is a unique & symbolic experience for me : a meeting between two women photographers, living and creating in New York.
