Born in 1977 in Grenoble, France
Louis Lumière National Photography School | photography master (1997-2000) in Paris, France
Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers | multimedia master (2001) in Paris, France
Based in New York since 2006

A free-lance photographer since 2001, Marilia Destot pursues both journalistic and artistic careers, mixing photography and multimedia (animated and interactive forms of photography). Beside her solo shows, she initiated & participated to many artistic collaborations in the fields of dance, fashion and photography.
Her personal photography work focuses, through portrait and landscapes series, on the relation & perceptions of the model to his environment. Exploring, in a pictorial and sensitive way, a definition of the photographic medium : a fragmented and subjective vision of time, space and memory.
Her work has been exhibited many times in France, Switzerland, England, and now in the U.S. In 2008, her work Ellipses was awarded by La Bourse du Talent, and then exhibited and collected by the renowned Bibliothèque Nationale de France.
